Why we should accept the trinity.?
Congratulations.!!!! You have just made the most important decision of your life and have become a child of God. Not an Israelite (Jew), but a Christian, someone who has been fortunate enough to be grafted-in to the Vine. (See Romans 11:17-21) Having surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus Christ and asked Him to come into your life, you have made a decision to no longer follow your own self-will, but have become willing to follow the will of God for your own life, on a daily basis.
Where do we find the will of God.? In God's revelation to mankind, the Holy Bible, the manual for living. No other book is needed. No other revelation required. To claim that we need "further revelation" is a satanic ploy that uses man's pride as it's spearhead. Luke 8:11-12 We may as well say that Christ is not enough and spit in his face.!! There is no such thing as a first, or second class Christian, we are all one, in Christ. Unless you strip Christ of his Deity.
Being fresh in the faith you are sure to have a real hunger to learn and know more about the things of God. This is the reason this tract has been put together, to help you get grounded in the basic truths once delivered to the Saints. You are probably wondering just who the Lord Jesus Christ was, so let us have a look at what the Bible says of Him. Turn to Colossians 2:9 in your Bible, we read, "For in Him dwelleth ALL the fulness of the Godhead bodily." It would be worth our while to reflect and meditate upon this statement from God's Word. Allow it to sink deep within your heart and soul as this is the crux of your Christian faith. The Cornerstone. Your walk with God has got nothing to do with being "religious" as we can become religious about going Shopping every friday night. It is your spiritual being (inner man) which is no longer striving to achieve, as you now have a direct link to your Creator that no organisation can offer. Creation (that's us) worshipping our Creator.
For the Christian, God is not a mythical God, a fable, or a three-letter-word that is "out there somewhere". 2 Timothy 4:3-4 Acts 17:23 A true blue Christian's faith is based upon fact. Jesus was a real person. It's what we think of him that determines where we will be going.? Was he just the "Son", or was he more than just the Son.? Do you beleive in Christ's Deity? Or do you strip Christ of his Deity by claiming that we need further revelation and that Christ is not enough? We read in Colossians 2:6-8 "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
You may be wondering how you have managed to ask the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart as He is no longer around.? It was nearly 2000 years ago that he journeyed in the Holy Land, so how can a Christian claim to know Him personally.? It is thanks to the Holy Comforter, the Spirit of Christ Himself. The Bible tells us that God is Spirit. Reading in John 7:39 "But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that beleive on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified." The Spirit of God lives in our hearts, as we displace "self" off the throne of our being. "Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates." 2 Cor 13:5 Perhaps this is why you are so full of joy and peace.!! Having the full knowledge that you are saved, your soul is now at rest. "The Truth will set you free."
The words of Jesus himself in John 16:13-14, "Howbeit when He, the Spirit of Truth, is come, He will guide you into all Truth: For He shall not speak of himself: but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall he speak: and He shall shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for He shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you." We see from this verse that the Holy Spirit shall not speak of himself, He is given to glorify Christ. He is not given to edify ourselves. !!! Let us never make the mistake of putting the gifts of the Spirit, above, the giver of the gifts. !! Question:- Has tongues replaced discernment.?
Christianity, in it's purest form, is a dying to "self". Ego deflation in depth. John 3:30 We dont have to strive to try and earn our salvation (which only serves to feed the ego more, making it impossible to die to "self") Ephesians 2:8-9 "We are saved through Grace, not through Works." Certain "brands" of Christianity, such as Mormonism, will tell you that you can become "a god", this sort of belief system inflates ones' ego, rather than deflating it, and appeals to mans' flesh. This particular quirk of mormonism borders upon beleiving in reincarnation which as we all know is definitely not Christian teachings.
Now that
you have made a commitment to God, satan may well try and
persuade you to accept some other "similiar sounding
gospel" (ie Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses, Bahai's, Moonies.)
all who beleive they have a more "superior gospel" than
yours. So let us have a look at what God's Word says on this
subject. Galatians 1:6-9
"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called
you into the Grace of Christ unto another Gospel: which is not
another; But there be some that trouble you and would pervert the
Gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from Heaven, preach
any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto
you, let him be accursed. as we said before, so say I now again,
if any man preach any other Gospel unto you than that ye have
received, let him be accursed." Matt 24:4-5
Matt
24:24 Mark 13:21-23
Another Christian basic is that of the Trinity. We read in 1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." If the trinity is what we say it is, then when we receive Christ into our life, we are given His Spirit (Holy Spirit) at that precise moment. Some may say to you that the word trinity is not in the Bible, so how can we beleive it's teaching.? Point taken. Should we glibly dismiss the trinity.? After all, the word idiot is not in the Bible either, yet there are plenty of Scriptures that talk about fools. !!! If we accept the trinity does that mean we worship a "freaky looking three headed God".? Some would say this is the case (Jehovah's Witnesses), though they speak through lack of knowledge, cause this is not so at all.
To separate the three persons of the trinity takes away the very heart of the gospel, which is Christ. The Christian worships a God who knows what it is like to live inside our bodies. Why? He lived inside one for 33 years, so He knows our pains, our frailties, our joys, and our very inner being. We read in Col 2:10 that "ye are complete in Him.....". God with skin on, if you want to look at it like that.? (Note:- Not to be confused with the mythical mormon God, Elohim.) Know WHO you beleive. !
You may even here people say, "Oh, Yes !! Jesus is the Son of God, we acknowledge that, though we worship God the Father." (see difference between an "abbahite" and a Christian). This sort of statement strips Christ of everything Col 2:9-10 and relegates Him to a secondary position. Satan has been trying to strip Christ of his Deity for centuries and continues to do so to this very day. Mark 4:14-15 It would at this stage be worth considering the words of our Lord in John 14:8-9 "Philip saith unto Him, Lord, shew us the Father, that it sufficieth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip.? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father, and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father.? Isaiah 9:6 - "unto us a child is born......The Everlasting Father." The teaching of the trinity is quite plain to see. "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." When we ask Christ into our life, it is not Christ himself that enters in, for His body is no longer here, as He has bodily risen. John 2:19-21 It is Christ's Spirit, the Holy Comforter, that enters inside us. John 10:30 "The Father and I are one." and in John 14:9 ".....how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father.?"
We either accept the trinity, or we reject it. If we accept it, we worship a Fact. If we reject it then we end up worshipping a myth, leaving us no better off than we were before we accepted Christ into our lifes. Hence the reason for saying to you that no further revelation is necessary, as it has the tendency to strip you of the truth before you've had time to grow in Grace. Leaving you a "form of godliness, but denying the Power thereof." 2 Tim 3:5 That Power, is Christ.
Doctrines (Christian teachings) can be fascinating to study, though they are really side issues. Do we put our denomination before our Lord.? Or even try to defend our doctrines, rather than defend the King.? Christ is many things to many people. !!! Was He just "the Son of God"? Or can we confess that Jesus is Jehovah God, Elohim and Yahweh, thereby making him LORD of lords. There is unity in Christ's Deity, whether we be Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, or whatever denomination.!!! Its the Cross that counts. So, what do you think of Christ.? What do your Christian friends, or even your Pastor, or Minister, think of Him.? Test the Spirits. A Saviour that doesn't save us totally, is really no Saviour worth having.
We leave you with 1 Cor 1:18-19 "For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are being saved it is the Power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
We recommend that you study the following Scriptures and ask the Lord Jesus to reveal more of Himself to you. God Bless. Matt 11:28-30 John 1:1-5 John 20:24-29 Romans 12:1-3 Philippians 3:7-14 2 Corinth 4:1-5 Colossians 1:16-20 Matt 16:24-25
If you beleive that Christ's Deity is sufficient, then please help, distribute copies, to the ends of the earth.
